Never sold
We never sell or rent student data, and we don’t show students ads.
Deletable on request
A student or school can ask us to delete their data at any time.
What we collect
Account basics — the student’s name and email, so they can sign in and see their own progress.
Their practice answers and interview transcripts — so the AI coach can give feedback.
Scores and feedback generated from each session.
Optional: a résumé or job description, only if a student chooses to upload one for a tailored session.
What we never do
Sell or rent student data to anyone.
Share it with third parties for advertising or marketing.
Use student answers to train external AI models — they’re processed by Microsoft Azure OpenAI solely to generate that student’s feedback.
Consent for under-18 students
For students under 18, we rely on the school to obtain whatever consent its own policy requires — whether that’s school or parental consent — before students start. We’re happy to provide a short information sheet you can share with parents. Interview Buddy is not directed to children under 13.
Security & storage
Student data is hosted on Microsoft Azure’s Australian infrastructure. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access to student data is restricted to what’s needed to operate the service.
Access, correction & deletion
Students and schools can ask to access, correct or delete their data at any time. Just reach out via our Contact Us page and we’ll action it — we aim to respond within 30 days, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
